Necessity Is the Mother of Invention: SingFit TV™

Updated: Sep 28, 2022

In March 2020, we started getting more calls from clients in senior living and long-term care. COVID-19 had arrived and group programming for residents and patients could not be held in many states. They wanted to know what SingFit offered that could keep people with dementia engaged with only minimal help from the already overworked staff. Our current solution suite, SingFit PRIME for groups, SingFit STUDIO Pro and SingFit STUDIO Caregiver, are all app based, which is not typically something someone with dementia could handle on their own. So, what to do? As necessity is the mother of invention, SingFit TV was born. Based on our award-winning SingFit PRIME format, SingFit TV takes viewers on an interactive musical journey that includes singing, trivia, reminiscence questions and, of course, our priority Lyric Coach which means no reading of lyrics or remembering the words necessary; audience members can just listen and sing.

SingFit TV was a hit, both with our current clients and in research done with over 260 family caregivers. While the original episodes featured public domain music, we have now struck deals with major publishing companies' songs including Hound Dog, Singing in the Rain, and more. We are proud to announce that in the U.S. SingFit TV is now available as an add on to our SingFit PRIME, SingFit STUDIO Pro and SingFit STUDIO Caregiver subscriptions. SingFit TV is also available in the UK market as a standalone solution.

Hosted by certified music therapist and SingFit’s Chief Clinical Officer, Andy Tubman, there are currently eight episodes of the series available with at least six more episodes slated for release in 2022.
